Cort built the KX500-EBK as the flagship 6-string model of the KX Series, positioning it as a conventional-string-count counterpart to the multi-scale KX508MS and KX500MS. The guitar was aimed at players working across high-gain genres including djent metal, modern and prog rock who required premium components without moving to an extended-range instrument.
The KX500-EBK was constructed with a bolt-on neck made from a 5-piece maple and purpleheart laminate, paired with a mahogany body topped with a sand-blasted ash burl surface finished in Etched Black. The Macassar ebony fretboard carries 24 frets on a 15.75" (400mm) radius over a 25.5" (648mm) scale length. Fishman Fluence Modern Humbuckers handle the pickups, controlled through a 1 Volume (push-pull), 1 Tone (push-pull) and a 3-way selector arrangement. The bridge is a single hardtail unit with string-through-body stringing. Cort staggered locking machineheads handle tuning stability, all hardware finished in black nickel. Strings were fitted from the factory as D'Addario YB EXL 110.
Owners sourcing replacement parts should note the string-through hardtail bridge spacing, the 15.75" fretboard radius, and the locking machinehead post dimensions when seeking compatible hardware; a qualified guitar technician can confirm exact tolerances before ordering.

What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
