Cort built the KX100-MA as the entry-level model of its KX Series, positioning it to extend the line's reach to a broader range of players. It shared the KX Series' emphasis on quality materials and build consistency while sitting at the base of the range.
The KX100-MA is built on a basswood body with a bolt-on hard maple neck and a jatoba fretboard running a 400 mm (15.75") radius across 24 frets. The 648 mm (25.5") scale feeds into a hardtail bridge, and the guitar is strung through Powersound pickups selected by a 3-way toggle switch, with one volume and one tone control. Hardware throughout is finished in black, and die-cast tuners handle tuning stability. The Metallic Ash finish is identified in the model designation.
