Cort built the G250-DX-TB as part of an updated run of the G Series line, positioning it as a bridge between traditional construction and more contemporary tonal flexibility. The model sat in the mid-range of the G Series, offering a bolt-on double-cutaway configuration with a quilted top over an American basswood body and a Canadian hard maple neck with a matching headstock.
The maple fretboard runs a 240mm (9 7/16") radius across 22 frets, with dot inlays and a 42mm nut width at a 648mm (25.5") scale length. An Alnico V S-S-H pickup array drives the electronics, with Cort specifying Alnico V magnets across all three positions for what the original documentation described as a sweeter, smoother character compared to ceramic alternatives. A 5-way lever switch, single volume, and single tone control with coil-tap cover the switching and gain-staging duties. The bridge is a 2-point tremolo with steel bent saddles. All hardware is finished in chrome, and the guitar shipped strung with D'Addario EXL-120s (009–042).
