The sustain block that hangs below the Floyd Rose 1000 Series base plate and anchors the return springs. When the original block is cracked, stripped at the saddle screws, or has been swapped out for a part that does not match the plate, this is the replacement. Part number FR1TB42.

Fit is decided by two things before anything else. First, block length has to clear your body cavity — too long and the block bottoms out before you finish a dive; too short and the springs pull at the wrong angle and the bridge will not return to pitch. Measure the cavity depth before ordering. Second, the mounting screw pattern has to match your existing 1000 Series base plate. This block is made for the 1000 Series; if your base plate is from a different Floyd Rose series, check the plate designation before assuming it will bolt up.

Material is nickel-plated brass. Brass sits between the harder zinc alloys and the denser steel options in terms of attack character — but material only affects response. It does not change whether the block fits the cavity or matches the plate.
