The sustain block that hangs below the base plate and anchors the return springs. When the original block cracks, strips, or goes missing, the bridge loses its anchor point and the whole system fails. This is the Floyd Rose factory replacement for 1000 Series tremolo systems, made from nickel-plated brass.

Before ordering, measure your cavity clearance and check your base plate's mounting screw pattern. Block length has to clear the body cavity — too long and the block bottoms out before a full dive; too short and the springs sit at the wrong angle and the bridge never returns to pitch cleanly. The mounting holes also have to line up with the base plate this block bolts to. A 1000 Series block does not automatically fit a base plate from a different series, even if it looks close.

The block is nickel-plated brass. Brass adds mass below the base plate, which affects the character of the attack and the way the note decays. It does not affect whether the block physically fits — that is decided entirely by cavity depth and screw pattern.
