Washburn built the HB36K as part of its Semi-Hollowbody Series, positioning it as a full hollowbody electric with a spruce top over flame maple back and sides. The model carried a hard maple neck and a rosewood fretboard with MOP block inlays, catering to players who wanted the acoustic resonance of a hollowbody construction alongside standard electric hardware.
The HB36K ran a 24.75" scale on a 22-fret rosewood board with a 43 mm Graphtech Nubone nut. Two Washburn humbuckers fed into a 2 Volume / 2 Tone control set with a 3-way toggle selector. Hardware throughout was finished in distressed bronze, including Grover Exclusive 18:1 tuners and a tune-o-matic bridge with tailpiece. The guitar shipped strung with D'Addario EXL 120 light-gauge strings and included a GC71 case. The overall finish was a vintage matte in the colour designated Vintage Matte.
Owners sourcing replacement parts should note that the tune-o-matic bridge accepts standard tune-o-matic saddles, and the Grover Exclusive tuners follow Grover's own mounting pattern. For setup, intonation, or nut replacement work, consulting a qualified guitar technician familiar with hollowbody instruments is recommended.
