Ibanez built the RG8570ZLBSR as part of the J.Custom series, positioning it at the upper tier of the RG line. The J.Custom designation marked guitars assembled to tighter tolerances and fitted with premium materials, and the RG8570ZLBSR carried the series' signature combination of a Super Wizard neck profile, bound fretboard, and Tree of Life inlay work.
The body paired an African Mahogany core with a 4mm AAA Flamed Maple top. The five-piece Maple/Wenge neck ran to a bound Macassar Ebony fretboard with 24 jumbo frets finished with J.Custom fret edge treatment, a 430mm radius, and a 43mm locking nut. Scale length was 648mm (25.5"). The pickup complement was an HSH configuration sourced entirely from DiMarzio: an Air Norton humbucker at the neck, a True Velvet single-coil in the middle, and The Tone Zone humbucker at the bridge — all passive Alnico units. Tremolo duties fell to an Edge-Zero bridge with ZPS3 system, strung at 10.8mm spacing. All hardware was finished in Cosmo Black. The guitar left the factory strung with D'Addario EXL120s (.009–.042).
Owners working on setup, fret maintenance, or tremolo calibration should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with double-locking tremolo systems.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
