Ibanez produced the MRB500C Road Tour Hardshell Electric Bass Guitar Case as a protective transport solution designed to accommodate a wide range of electric bass guitars, including left-handed models and instruments across 4-string, 5-string, 6-string, and 7-string configurations. The case was specifically compatible with Ibanez SR, SRH, SRSC, BTB, BTBSC, ATK, TMB, GWB, and GVB series basses, as well as many contemporary bass designs, owing to a special mold interior intended to accept various body shapes.
The shell is constructed from high-quality ABS material. Closure and travel security are handled by TSA-approved latches, permitting locked transport in checked luggage. A special long handle accommodates changes in grip position depending on weight and balance. The case ships with an included Ibanez tool case. Interior dimensions feature a lower body hollow depth of 50mm, a swell width of 350mm, and an overall interior length of 1185mm, with the exterior measuring 1285mm long, 445mm wide, and 140mm deep. Assembled weight is 6.44kg.
Owners confirming fit for a specific bass body profile, or requiring hardware or latch servicing, should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with hardshell case hardware.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
