Washburn built the T24NMK-D-U as part of the Taurus Series, positioning it as a professional-level electric bass within that line. The model featured a neck-through construction and was offered in a Natural Matte finish.
The bass was built around a mahogany body and a maple/mahogany multi-laminate neck-through configuration with an ebony fretboard spanning 24 frets with offset dot inlays. The 34" scale paired with a 1-5/8" Graphtech Nubone nut. Two Washburn J-style pickups in a J/J configuration fed into a 2 Volume/2 Tone control layout. Hardware throughout was chrome, including diecast tuners, and the bridge was a hardtail design. The instrument shipped strung with D'Addario EXL170 light gauge strings.
