Washburn built the N2NMK-D-U as part of the N Series, a line developed in collaboration with Nuno Bettencourt — guitarist known for his work with Extreme and subsequent touring and recording projects. The N2 sat within that signature series and carried the reverse headstock aesthetic and fast-neck character that defined the range. This example is finished in Natural Matte.
The guitar is a double-cut solid body with a basswood body and a bolt-on maple neck. The ebony fretboard runs 22 frets at a 25-1/2" scale length, with dot inlays throughout. A 43 mm chrome locking nut anchors the string end, and a Floyd Rose Special bridge handles vibrato duties. The pickup layout is H/H: a Washburn neck pickup and a Bill Lawrence bridge pickup, controlled by a single volume knob with a push-pull coil tap and a 3-way toggle selector. Chrome hardware and Grover Exclusive 18:1 tuners complete the specification. The guitar shipped strung with D'Addario EXL 120 light-gauge strings.
Owners needing setup work, locking nut replacement, Floyd Rose Special components, or coil-tap wiring service should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with double-locking tremolo systems.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
