Schecter positioned the Ultra-III as a set-neck electric guitar within their lineup, finished in Vintage Red. Built in South Korea, it carried a three-piece mahogany neck joined to a mahogany body with a flat-top contour featuring a raised center and sculptured edges, bound in ivory single-ply binding.
The Ultra-III shipped with a 25.5-inch scale rosewood fretboard, a 14-inch radius, 22 X-Jumbo frets, and pearl block inlays. The Thin 'C' neck profile measured .787 inches at the first fret and .866 inches at the twelfth. Nut duties fell to a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq unit at 1.653 inches wide, and a two-way adjustable truss rod with a 5/32-inch Allen nut handled relief. Grover tuners and chrome hardware were fitted throughout. The bridge was a Bigsby Flat Top B50 paired with a roller tune-o-matic. Three Duncan Designed pickups — FG-101N at the neck, FG-101M in the middle, and FG-101B at the bridge — were wired to a volume control, a tone control, and three on/off/coil-split slider switches, topped with retro-style knobs. The guitar shipped strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046 strings; the SGR 11-UM Ultra case was sold separately.
Owners sourcing replacement parts should note that the Bigsby B50 flat-top and roller tune-o-matic are standard units with broadly available replacement saddles and hardware; the Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut and 42mm nut width are useful references when sourcing a replacement nut. A qualified guitar technician can advise on truss rod adjustment, pickup replacement compatibility, and correct string gauges for the existing nut slots.
