Cort built the CR250-TBK as part of the CR (Classic Rock) Series, a line designed to deliver the look, feel, and performance of the much sought-after vintage instruments from the Golden Era of electric guitars. Within the CR range, the CR250 sat as a set-neck electric carrying the series' core commitment to vintage-voiced tone and classic hardware appointments.
The CR250-TBK is constructed with a mahogany body topped with flamed maple, joined by a mahogany set neck and a jatoba fretboard with a 305mm (12") radius, 22 frets, and rectangular white pearl inlays. The 42mm nut is a Graph-Tech Nubone unit, and the 628mm (24.75") scale feeds into a tune-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece finished in nickel. Ivory binding runs the body, and vintage-style tuners are fitted throughout. The pickups are Cort's Voiced Tone VTH-59 units — PAF-inspired humbuckers wound with selected Alnico II magnets and 0.06" custom gauge coils — controlled through a two-volume, two-tone, three-way switching arrangement. The guitar ships strung with D'Addario XL110s.
Owners seeking replacement parts should note that the T.O.M. bridge accepts standard tune-o-matic saddles, the 42mm nut width is compatible with widely available Graph-Tech Nubone replacements, and the PAF-format pickup routes will accept most standard humbucker replacements; a luthier or parts specialist familiar with vintage-spec hardware can assist with sourcing compatible components.
