Stop locks are the small steel blocks that sit beneath the sustain block and prevent the bridge from pitching forward past a set point. They let you lock the float position — useful when you want the bridge to behave like a hard-tail for tuning stability, string changes, or drop-tuning on the fly without losing your dive-only setup. The FRTL40 is Floyd Rose's own part for that function, finished in nickel, made from steel.

Fit is not universal. Floyd Rose tremolo hardware is series-specific — parts that look the same between generations are cut to different dimensions.
