Description
Ibanez produced the SMMINI Super Metal Mini Pedal as a compact reissue of the SM9 Super Metal, bringing that pedal's five-knob control layout into a smaller housing. It was part of Ibanez's Mini pedal family, positioned for players who wanted the SM9's tonal range without the pedalboard footprint.
The SMMINI retained 100% analog circuitry and a five-knob configuration comprising two stacked pairs — Edge/Punch and Attack/Level — alongside a larger central Drive knob. A true bypass switch provided a direct signal path when the effect was disengaged. The unit was manufactured in Japan and operated on an external DC 9V power supply with a negative centre pin, drawing 23mA.
Owners sourcing a replacement power supply should ensure it meets the DC 9V negative-centre-pin specification at or above 23mA. For any internal service, calibration or circuit-level repair, consult a qualified electronics technician experienced with effects pedal circuitry.
