Washburn built the WIT16VSK-D-U as part of its Idol Series, positioning the T16 as a single-cutaway bolt-on electric drawing direct inspiration from the original WI36. The Idol body shape was created by Washburn craftsmen in 1999, and the T16 carried that lineage forward with a swamp ash body, burled maple veneer top, and a vintage sunburst gloss finish paired with gold hardware.
The neck is hard maple with an ebony fretboard, 22 frets, dot inlays, and a 25.5" scale length. Two USA-made Seymour Duncan Vintage Stack pickups (STK-T3B) occupy the neck and bridge positions, selected via a 3-way toggle. A push-pull coil-split on the tone control allows switching between the hum-cancelling stacked output and straight single-coil response. The Wilkinson ashtray bridge features brass saddles, and the guitar was fitted with the Buzz Feiten Tuning System for intonation accuracy across the fretboard. Grover 18:1 tuning machines and D'Addario XL110 (10–46) strings completed the specification. A gigbag was included with the instrument.
Owners sourcing replacement parts should note that the Wilkinson ashtray bridge accepts standard Telecaster-style saddle dimensions, and the Grover 18:1 machines follow standard tuner footprint conventions — a qualified guitar technician can confirm precise fit before any hardware is sourced.
