Washburn built the RSD135-D-U as a limited-edition commemorative model within its Revival Series, produced to mark the brand's 135-year history. The run was capped at 135 instruments, each serialised in sequence from 1883 through 2018. Manufactured at Washburn's custom shop in the U.S.A., the guitar was designed to match the original size and shape of Washburn's 1937 Solo Dreadnought models, designated internally as #5244 and #5246.
The dreadnought body pairs a solid Sitka spruce top, braced with Cathedral Peaked Scalloped X bracing, against solid mahogany back, sides, and neck. The ebony fretboard spans 20 frets over a 25-1/2" scale, with a bone nut cut to a 1-3/4" width and dot inlays. Period-referencing details include the classic Washburn smile bridge in ebony, a Revival 30s-style headstock, and a faux-tortoise pickguard. GraphTech Ratio-tuned open-back tuners with butter-bean knobs handle tuning stability. The instrument ships with a D'Addario EXP-16 light phosphor bronze string set. All hardware is chrome, and the body carries a satin natural finish with a 2-ring herringbone rosette.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — bridge pins, nuts, tuner buttons or a correctly sized nut blank — should note the 1-3/4" nut width and standard dreadnought saddle geometry as starting points. For any setup work, intonation adjustment, or fret maintenance, consult a qualified luthier familiar with all-solid acoustic construction.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
