Washburn built the RO10STBLK-A-U as part of its Rover Series, a line positioned as travel-sized acoustic instruments suited to players at any level of experience. The guitar occupies the compact, portable end of Washburn's acoustic catalogue, carrying a travel or mini body shape designed to be taken on the road.
The top is solid spruce, braced with quarter-sawn scalloped Sitka spruce bracing — a construction detail more commonly found on full-sized instruments. Back and sides are mahogany, and the neck is also mahogany. The fretboard and bridge are engineered wood, with offset dot inlays across 18 frets. The nut is ABS at 1-11/16" width, and the scale runs 23-3/4". Hardware throughout is chrome, including chrome diecast tuners. The rosette is ABS. The finish is matte trans blue, and the guitar ships strung with D'Addario EXP16 Coated Phosphor Bronze Light strings (12-53). A deluxe gigbag was included. Units produced before August 2018 were sold with a soft shell case instead.
