Washburn built the C64SCE-A-U as part of its Classical Series, positioning it as a nylon-string acoustic-electric aimed at players who needed both traditional classical voicing and access to the upper register. The cutaway body accommodates fretting in higher positions, and the Fishman Classica II preamp system provides amplified output without sacrificing the acoustic character of the instrument. Washburn noted the model as suitable across a range of playing levels, from classical and flamenco players to those newer to the instrument.
The top is solid spruce, braced with quarter-sawn Sitka spruce, while the back, sides, and neck are mahogany. The fretboard is engineered wood, and the nut is a GraphTech Nubone unit at 52mm width — a wider spacing than standard steel-string guitars, consistent with the finger-style demands of classical technique. Scale length is 650mm. The preamp system is the Fishman Classica II, with controls for volume, bass, treble, and phase, plus a built-in tuner. Hardware is gold throughout, including classical-style gold tuners. The bridge is listed as an alternative-style unit. A mosaic rosette provides decorative detail. The guitar ships strung with D'Addario EJ46 ProArte Hard Tension nylon strings, and the finish is gloss natural.
For setup adjustments, nut replacement, or electronics servicing on this model, consult a qualified guitar technician or luthier familiar with classical nylon-string instruments. The 52mm nut width and 650mm scale are standard classical dimensions and should guide any replacement part sourcing.

What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
